Gastronomy

It's not very difficult to find a gastronomic route in the province of Girona. Both the variety of products as well as the campaigns carried out, based on culinary traditions and typical dishes have driven and consolidated the gastronomy of the region.

Empordà is a land of meat dishes and fish stews, of sea and land, and restaurants whose specialties are game and seafood. Enjoying the natural resources of this region is a pleasure for all the sense: from the prawns of Palamós to the salted anchovies from L'Escala, which possess guarantee of origin; let us not forget an Empordàn Grenache or the simplicity of the water: the delicacy of Les Creus and the subtle spice of Vilajuiga.

The gastronomic dynamism of the restaurants in Baix Emporda and the Costa Brava is the most relevant in all of Catalonia. The region can count many renowned restaurants, recommended by the prestigious Michelin Guide as well as by El Bulli, El Mas Pau, El Celler de Can Roca. This shows us that natural resources are just one more ingredient that is added to the wonderful recipes in the kitchens of Girona's restaurants.
